What a Summer!

I have barely had time to catch my breath let alone do any writing and that makes me sad.  So here I am finally taking the much needed time to sit and write.

My son started back to school last Thursday.  His final year of high school. This is my baby and so the last of my children is getting ready to leave the nest. We spent the summer getting him into the Air Force. One year from now he will be leaving for basic training.  I am so very proud of him!  Part of me is sad but part of me is excited too.  Excited for him and his new adventure and excited for my husband and I and OUR new adventure as Empty Nesters!

Of course with 6, yes SIX, grandchildren, our nest really doesn't feel all that empty. Oh yes, it is very surreal to be 41 and have 6 grandchildren already. It's funny the twists and turns that life can take.  Where my life is now is someplace I totally did not foresee. I thought at 41 and an empty nest I would be ready to party and have a good time.  What I am is T I R E D! What I am dealing with is trying to find a job after so many years as a homemaker, dealing with two people who are now trying to figure out who they are and how they fit together. BUT, I will survive, this too shall pass.

So last Spring and early summer we were busy, busy, busy revamping our house. Well the progress stalled out a little bit because I had severely injured my shoulder and honestly May and June were pretty much a blur in my life. I was in a MAJOR funk.  Over the past three years I have been prone to having periods of depression, I think it's just due to all the changes happening and seemingly happening all at once.

Early July my Dr. put me on a gluten free/dairy free diet to try to reduce some of the inflammation I have been experiencing, it's been an adjustment and my hormones have been crazy as a result. Things are getting better but I am pretty sure my body is still going through a detox even though I have been living this lifestyle for 6 weeks now.

And I started and ended a business this summer. It's a home based selling business.  LOVE the products but the company it's self leaves much to be desired. I have to much crazy in my life to deal with other peoples crazy!

So now that you realize what a hot mess I am let me focus on happier things!

We welcomed our fifth grand baby into the world on July 17th. Jennifer Catherine was born weighing 9lbs. 4 oz. She is a beautiful little girl who looks just like my son-in-law! She was on oxygen for her first 5 weeks because she was so big she was taking her time adjusting to breathing air.  We also live above 6000 ft which makes is a little bit harder for those big babies!

A couple of weeks after her birth is when we learned we are expecting NUMBER 6!  My younger daughter presented us with some ultrasound pictures to let us know. She is already more than half way through her pregnancy!!! So baby Emily will be born sometime this Dec. She is due right around Christmas. This is my younger daughters 4 pregnancy so we will see if she makes it to her due date.  Her oldest child is actually her step-daughter so she has given us 5 of these 6 babies! Crazy girl! But I love her and I love my grandchildren and I knew she wanted a big family. Of course I didn't expect them to all be so close in age, but it's all good.  After all, I am the youngest of 8!

Alright, so now that I got all that out, my last post I promised a tour of my new sewing room!  Yes, in the midst of all the chaos, I did manage to get a sewing room put together!  I have a few other projects I worked on this summer as well that I will catch everyone up on.

I also opened a new Etsy shop to try and sell the purses I make and to get some new orders for some custom items. Because let's face it, I would much rather sew and sell then have to find a nine to five. :-)

I went with It's Sew Jenny CO for Colorado because It's Sew Jenny was already taken :-(  But hey! I own the dot com, you would think I get first dibs on all things Jenny! ;-)  Yeah the internet does not work that way does is.  So I will represent good old Colorado, can I get a WHAT WHAT!!! :-)

I am still working this Etsy shop out, but you can take a peek, and bookmark, and follow me, and you know, buy stuff right here!

Well thanks for letting me chatter. Tell me how your summer went!
